Answers to the questions we get asked most about our sheds, fencing and decking. Can't find what you're looking for? Call us on 01 281 0109.
Delivery and installation are included in the price across Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford, Kildare, Meath, Carlow and Kilkenny. We also deliver sheds to Westmeath, Laois and Louth for a €40 delivery fee. See all the areas and towns we cover.
The difference is the timber. A Rustic shed is built with rough sawn 10mm overlap boards and a 16mm butt jointed roof and floor. A Delux shed is built with 22mm kiln dried, planed weather sheeting and a tongue and groove roof and floor. Because of the rougher timber, a Rustic shed is more prone to dampness in wet or very exposed spots.
You need a clear, level site. Unless the shed is going on a patio or tarmac, you will also need some 4 inch solid concrete blocks. The number of blocks depends on the size of the shed.
Lead times are seasonal and can change. The current installation lead time is shown at the top of every page, or call us on 01 281 0109. We do not deliver on Weekends or bank holidays.
Every shed is treated with a preservative before it leaves our factory, even if it is not pressure treated. We suggest treating it again within six months of purchase and every two years after that. We recommend Ronseal Fencelife, but any good brand from your local hardware shop will do.
Pressure treated timber has a preservative forced deep into the wood, so the protection is long lasting and very little maintenance is needed. It starts out a light colour with a hint of green.
Yes. Send us a drawing of what you need and we will price it. Custom sheds need a 50% deposit.
Yes. Materials and workmanship are guaranteed for one year, so you are covered through every season.
Our sheds come as standard with heavy duty grey mineral felt. You can upgrade to an anthracite grey steel roof or felt tiles.
In most cases, yes. If you let us know in advance, we can make the shed in smaller sections that fit through the house, as long as there is a straight run through. There is a surcharge for this, as the shed takes longer to make and build.
Our standard sheds are brown. Pressure treated sheds are a very pale green from the treatment. We do not paint sheds to order.
Online orders are paid in full at checkout. If you order by phone or in person, we take a deposit when you order and the balance when your installation is scheduled.
Yes, we can take down and dispose of your old shed. The price depends on the size, so call us for a quote. Please clear any ivy or plants from the old shed first, and make sure any electrics are fully disconnected before we arrive.
We fit one piece of skirting to the front and visible side of each shed. If your site is uneven and needs extra blocks, the skirting may not hide them completely. You can collect extra skirting free of charge, or we can fit it for a call back charge.
These are turn buttons. Every single door shed comes with two. Keep them turned to hold the door in position and stop it warping.
That is completely normal. Timber is a natural product and fades to a silver grey in the sun over time. Pressure treated sheds never need painting, but you can paint yours if you like and it will not affect the treatment.
Sheds are loaded onto our trucks the night before installation, so if it rains overnight or during fitting, the frame can be wet. Give it a few dry days with the door propped open and it will dry out.
Unless the panel is pressure treated, we recommend treating it every two years with Ronseal Fencelife.
All our panels are metric, so a 6ft x 6ft panel is actually 1.8m x 1.8m. Panels are 1.8m wide and come in heights of 0.6m, 0.9m, 1.2m, 1.5m and 1.8m. We can also make panels to your own sizes.
Yes. Once you know what you need, contact our office and we will deliver it. Payment is taken in advance and there is a delivery charge. Supply only deliveries are left in the front garden, as we cannot carry goods into the back.
Choose a panel that lets the wind through. Cottage panels or Hit and Miss panels are good options, as they still give you privacy.
Yes. We can give you a rough price over the phone and arrange for our representative to call out and talk through what you need. Lead times change with the season, so please check with our office. Fencing installation is available in the Greater Dublin area only.
Our standard decking is pressure treated softwood. We also offer ribbed or smooth decking boards.
Call us with the length and width of the area you want to cover and we will work out an estimate for you.
Timber is a natural product that reacts to changes in temperature and weather. As it ages, fine hairline cracks can appear. This is normal for pressure treated timber and does not affect its strength or lifespan.
Yes. There are plenty of decking stains and paints that will change or refresh the colour and protect the timber from the weather.
